1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technology, such as your browser’s local storage, works the same way and is covered here too.
2. Cookies we use
We use strictly necessary cookies only. They are needed for features you ask for, so they don’t require consent. All of them are first-party, secure and not readable by scripts.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| jiq_session | Keeps you signed in to your member account. | Up to 90 days, or until you sign out |
| jiq_oauth | Protects “Continue with Google” against forged sign-in requests. Set only while you sign in with Google. | 10 minutes |
| jiq_admin | Keeps JewIQ staff signed in to the admin panel. Never set for visitors. | 12 hours |
| jiq_cookie_notice | Local storage, not a cookie: remembers that you closed the cookie notice. It never leaves your browser. | Until you clear it |
3. What we don’t use
No advertising, analytics, social-media or cross-site tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics or similar tools, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it and update this page.
4. Google sign-in
If you choose “Continue with Google”, you are taken to Google’s own pages, where Google sets its own cookies under its privacy policy. We don’t load Google scripts on JewIQ.
5. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, browsing still works but you won’t be able to sign in.
